Case:
The clock case has been made of solid French Lime wood frontly applied to a quality made plywood structure double curved in the 2 sides and also a back side unique piece made of the finest mdf to stabilize the movement indipendently from the big front carving. About 10 cm high thick pieces of wood. First the high schooled selection glueing drying and then the machine carving; during it the operator verifies continuosly the cut out of the extra parts of solid wood not needed for the real carving. Fully hand made carving and then glass paper sending by the carver man “Franco Franzoso”. Clock sculpture includes wooden parts refinished and polished and assembled separately during the test running. The base, the body of the clock, the 2 side angels and the central connection between the base and the big top openable door. Clock top glass is 5mm thick and bevelled all around manually by artisan Mr. Giovanni Casella. The bottom glass is blown.
Movement:
Original German mechanical movement from the company Kieninger, they do clock movements in the Black Forest since 1912 made of solid high thick brass. It plays the Westminster chime quarterly and the strokes hourly. Dial is round made of solid brass gold plated. Accessories also include: genuine brass lire pendulum and weights made in Germany by the Jaeckle company since 1888. Clock movement features: self oiling, self centring, self regulating and you may rotate minute hand counterclockwise trouble free. Moreover clock may not chime night time from 10pm untill 7.15am automatically. Clock winding weekly (about 10 days totally) by pulling down the free part of each chain and so making the weight moving up. It goes down 12cm per day making the clock running and chiming.
Finish:
Mr. Stefano Gobetti polish it all by using the nitro medium walnut color and the half shiny acrilic finishing. He sands manually each portion of the solid wood in order to protect the solid wood from any different condition of humidity and
Specials:
At the end of 70's the founder Antonio Altobel started reproducing this model from Baroque style in France. It was so thin and delicate that exporting it worldwide involved a lot of time in making it stonger safer and durable without modifying its gently design. So we separte the base and the top part adding a central connection in the front carving. We had enlarged the bottom glass and using the back hinges we also prepared a nice gently unique top door with key and lock, that allows to pull out the movement package with dial and hands once to the front as per a regular drawer.
Warranty:
We grant 2 years totally worldwide. It has the operating and starting booklet in 16 different languages included. We also will include usb pen drive showing start up videos in English language too. Clock wood has been selected in 10 years so it's dry and safe itself. About the movement package it includes the dial hands once. So simply open the top door, it comes off to the front simply by unscrewing the 2 gray screws and if you send or bring back the old one we give you a new clock movement package for free during the first 2 years and later at sole its cost. Anycase you do not need to repair or to ask people to come to your house. Simply self made replacement and per post sending back the old one to us. Simply by opening the top big door all the movement package stands out fully and easly.
