Case:
Amazing grandfather clock as did in 1700's for the lord people in Venice Republic. We had prepared the fish glue and plated many small pieces of solid Italian Olive wood by using thousands of small nails to fix each piece of Olive over the Maple case and using table solid Fir wood back side. Then after glue has been dryed we had to take them all off. Shellac finishing hand made by Mrs. Ambrosi, so by touching the surface you can easy feel the vens of the wood and also see them incredibly outstanding. The pieces of wood will surely move and you will see some small gaps in the betrween all around the clock case: those are not clock defects but that's the case woodworking processing. We add a bottle of finishing oil for continuing lubrificating the surface and by exporting that clock we add a protective transparent film made by our Mr. Giorgio too. Anycase it will never be secure from wood movement enough lifetime. We used old wood maybe 100 years old and we did the shellac filling 10 or 14 times depending on the wood selection made about 45 years ago, but that woodworking craftmanship was so high class that was not planned for durability but it was planning for displaying the wood vens as much as possibile and more and even more. Clock has the 2 side small doors for inspecting the chimes and the moonphase dial. At the time clock was without the moonphase and it had a paper dial. Interior has been finished with green velvet by our cofounder Mrs. Daniela and clock has the bevelled glass manually all around by Mr. Giovanni. The cord around the glasses is the old fashioned green color decorated flat and thin in order to cover the high thick of the doors in the between of the genuine platings of solid Olive wood outside and inside too. New locks in order to give secure closing and the full top part of the clock can be removed out to the top. At that time the top part was moved to the clock maker to be repaired and or later delivered in respect of the base/body of the clock, so we mantained the 2 clock parts too. Extraordinary grandfather clock case hand made totally by a kind of labour and craftmanship not more repetible.
