Case:
Clock case has been made by the same Venetian style woodworking process locally invented for the home furnishing in the Venetian countryside 200/300 years ago not for the rich people located in Venice but for their workers in the small villages. Truly very solid Italian walnut wood only used for this clock, about 110 elements made each model. Some pieces have been diamond edged in order to stand out even more vens for the finest selected walnut wood and polished separately in order to save the clock case from its sometimes nervous wood. Big top door arch to display the moon phase dial fully. Finish is armonious in order to mix up the different grains inside the solid wood and then a transparent film protection. Some antiquing and some little used modifications during the finishing also included in order to give to the clock a taste of used hierloom since generations. Glass hand bevelled all around by master Mr. Giovanni Casella and fixed by screwing without the cord.
Movement:
Original German mechanical movement from the company Kieninger, they do clock movements in the Black Forest since 1912 made of solid high thick brass. It plays the Westminster chime quarterly and the strokes hourly. Accessories also include: moonphase dial/face and the genuine brass lire pendulum and weights all them German made by the Jaeckle company since 1888. Clock movement features: self oiling, self centring, self regulating and you may rotate minute hand counterclockwise trouble free. Moreover clock may not chime night time from 10pm untill 7.15am automatically. Clock winding weekly (about 10 days totally) by pulling down the free part of each chain and so making the weight moving up. It goes down 12cm per day making the clock running and chiming.
Specials:
Clock dial and weights and pendulum may be little antiqued by a dark finish in order not to have the shiny metal and so matching the “vintage taste” of the whole case at the same time. We produce it since the 1970's. We had continuosly uptodated it by the local story refirements from the North East part of Italy since the begininng of 1800's. What is important to note is the moon phase dial very visible. That's because it was not an astrological feature only but the clock was located in the small villages far from eachother and so in the saloon where people had stopped to eat to drink to change the horses and to sleep too. It was usefull for indicating the full moon and so to display the nights where it was possible to ride horses nighttime under the moonlight.
Warranty:
We grant 2 years totally worldwide. It has the operating and starting booklet in 16 different languages included. We also will include usb pen drive showing start up videos in English language too. Clock wood has been selected in 10 years so it's dry and safe itself. About the movement package it includes the dial hands once. So simply open the top door, it comes off to the front simply by unscrewing the 2 gray screws and if you send or bring back the old one we give you a new clock movement package for free during the first 2 years and later at sole its cost. Anycase you do not need to repair or to ask people to come to your house. Simply self made replacement and per post sending back the old one to us.
